Beautiful Weather

I think the Spring is the reason people move to Charleston, SC. We have been wearing short-sleeves and shorts (if its warm enough) pretty consistently for the last 2 weeks. Before that it was hit and miss with a warm day followed by 4 cold days.

We are going to the parks every weekend. There are so many county parks and they are all within 15 min of our house. The pools open this weekend, but the water is no where near warm enough to get in. We normally go to the park, run a few errands, come home for lunch and naps, then normally play at the house. The one park we really like has a doggy play area, so we can take the kids to see puppies without having to actually get a dog.

We are coming home for Easter, starting out sometime on Friday. We'll be trying to work out schedules with everyone this week. We hope to be home from Saturday until Wednesday. We'll be in touch!!

Aidan is going to the potty!

Another milestone, Aidan went to the potty 5 times over the weekend. It's more of a discipline for Chris and I to take him, then it is for him to start going. It's so easy to just let them stay in diapers. He was ready and, in fact, he actually hates the changing table. He yells "go potty". He's not very good at aiming though.....

We did have not so good news from this weekend. Aidan fell in the shower and had to get 3 stitches in the back of his little head. We have a fairly large, stand-up shower that has a seat across the length of it. I stepped out to get their towels, and Sophia pulled something he was standing on (complete accident) and he fell backwards. I ran back over and the front of him looked fine, but I could see some blood on the floor. I immediately felt terrible...I usually have their towels hanging over the shower door. Aidan was fine after a few minutes and was actually telling me "it's alright Momma". Poor Sophie was so upset, she thought I was mad at her. Daddy took Aidan to get mended and I stayed and cuddled with her. I would have upset him more if I had gone. Come to find out, he did really well. They used a very strong numbing gel instead of the shot...popped in 3 small staples and he was home within an hour. I have a picture, but I'm hesitant to post it here. It just looks weird - like three small, shiny things stuck to his noggin.

Anyway, everyone is doing well. Chris and I stay very busy with our jobs and all our other time we enjoy with the kids...We're looking forward to going to the beach as soon as its warm enough!!!

Sorry to not write in so long...

Well, its been a really long time since we've posted anything - very sorry. It's been very busy ever since we got back from spending some time in WV for Christmas. The kids loved all the great things everyone got for them. Sophia is loving all her Hannah Montana stuff and Aidan really enjoys all his different playsets.

We are starting to go outside and play more now. The temperature varies from low 50's to mid-60's most days. We'll have at least one 45 degree day every couple of weeks. Sophia actually thinks its fall here and she keeps asking when winter is coming. She is really doing well riding her bicycle. Aidan is really taking to playing basketball, we have a little hoop for him in the house.

They are both doing very well down here. I told Chris the other day that we've broken a lot of bad habits since we've been here. They only drink chocolate milk once a day, in the morning. We've gone to other drinks and getting them to drink more and more water. We don't have TV on at the table - there's no place to put one easily. Aidan is eating a lot better. Like Lola, he had a hard time adjusting to regular food, he's a very picky eater. No more walking Aidan around the restaurant when he'd get fussy during dinner, it was a bad habit we started when there were plenty of us to do that. They're just growing up too fast!

Thanksgiving and Christmas

We had a great time getting to see everyone over Thanksgiving. The kids really enjoyed all their birthday gifts!!! I'm sure everyone was surprised how much they have grown in the last month or so. Its so hard to believe Christmas is just around the corner....what to buy for the kids when they seem to have so much already!

Here are some ideas for anyone else who is having trouble -

Sophia -
Ducky bathroom accessories from Target (may have mentioned it to Sarah)
She has a Leapster2 - so anything that looks cute. Its a bit big for her
but they usually have a drawing program in the game.
*Check with us on videos

Aidan -
Thomas the Train - its a given that he'll like it
Diego Toys - he has the Helicopter and the Truck w/plane and boat
Diego videos - we only have one.

I'll add some more if they show interest in anything else.

Pics

Pictures Finally

We have been sooo delinquent in adding new photos to Wal-Mart. Chris is trying to upload some right now. I will attempt to attach a few here of the kids.

We will be celebrating Aidan's 2nd birthday on Sunday!!! What a big boy!! He's already started counting to 10. Mommy is taking him some cupcakes to school and treat bags for his friends. We did the same for Sophia at this age.

Sophia's birthday is coming up soon, and we are planning a Chuck E Cheese party for her and her friends. We're hoping we won't have to do this many more times, since the pizza is gross and the place is a madhouse. She loves it and that's all that matters.

Take care!

Lost Cell Phone

As many of you may know, I lost my cell phone 2 weeks ago. We are pretty convinced little man threw it in the trash....he's been doing that a lot we've recently noticed. I do have another (thank goodness for Ebay). Please resend me your phone numbers or give me a call sometime at 843-709-1368. I appreciate it!

The kids are doing really well. Aidan's birthday is coming up soon. We'll be taking him cupcakes to school for his special day. We're planning to do some kind of birthday when we come home for Thanksgiving for both of the kids with everyone. We haven't quite decided on what to do for Sophia's birthday down here...she has a lot of little girlfriends at her new school that I'm sure she wants to squeal and eat cake with. If anyone wants to know what the kids are into at the moment (for birthdays or Christmas), here is a list that should help:

Sophia -
5T clothing, size 11 1/2 tennis shoes
*Needs jeans/pants and long, sleeve cotton shirts (we have plenty of kahki pants)
Learning videos - Word World, Leap Frog
Flash cards with pictures and ABCs on them (teacher store's are great)
Anything Wall-E related shirts, coloring books (we have most of the toys )
Crayola has a whole creative section in Wal-Marts/Targets with coloring books, neat pen sets

*She's not really shown intereset in princesses or Barbie's lately.

Aidan -
3T clothing, size 8 tennis shoes (will double check)
*Needs some pants and long, sleeve cotton shirts
Thomas the Train (we don't have much yet)
Diego (from Dora the Explorer)
Not particular at this age

I have a lot of success with buying them jeans at Children's place, usually running a sale and they lost a long time. I typically buy them shirts for school at Target, because we do have quite a few that will get stained. Hope this helps!
